Application Checklist

When applying for membership, there’s certain documents that you’ll need to produce as evidence, which are listed for each membership type below.
Each application is reviewed by ANTA’s accreditation board, in accordance with our membership requirements.

What you’ll need to apply for membership

Student

You must be undertaking a diploma, advanced diploma or bachelor degree in any of the following modalities: Acupuncture, Ayurvedic Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Musculoskeletal Therapy, Myotherapy, Naturopathy, Nutrition, Western Herbal Medicine*
Passport photo or government-issued photo ID
Details of your course and course provider
A certified copy of ANTA’s Statutory Declaration (found on the application introduction page)

Manual Therapist Membership

A diploma (or higher) in any of the following modalities: Aromatherapy, Musculoskeletal Therapy, Myotherapy, Remedial Therapy, Oriental Remedial Therapy, Shiatsu Therapy, TCM Remedial Massage*
A debit/credit card for your membership fee
A government issued ID; ie, driver’s licence or passport (preferred)
Details of your course and course provider
Copy of academic transcript(s)
Copy of qualification certificate OR letter from the college confirming completion
Details of your professional indemnity insurance (can be obtained after membership is approved)
Your first aid certificate (HLTAID011)
A Working With Children Check OR Police Check
For people who are born in a country where English is not the first spoken language, will require a IELTS 5 or higher, PTE Academic, TOEFL, Cambridge or Duolingo
A certified copy of ANTA’s Statutory Declaration – Declaration must be signed in person by applicant and witness (found on the application introduction page)
20 CPE points if not applying as a ‘New Graduate’

An Advanced Diploma or Bachelor degree in any of the following modalities: Acupuncture (CMBA Registration Required), Ayurvedic Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine (CMBA Registration Required), Homeopathy, Musculoskeletal Therapy, Myotherapy, Naturopathy, Nutrition, Western Herbal Medicine*
A debit/credit card or cheque for your membership fee
A certified government issued ID; ie: Driver’s licence or passport
Details of your course and course provider
Copy of Academic Transcript(s)
Copy of qualification(s) (diploma, advanced diploma, degree) or a letter from the college confirming completion
If qualified in Acupuncture or Chinese Herbal Medicine, a copy of your CMBA registration

Joining ANTA with an overseas qualification

If you attained your qualification overseas, you can still apply for ANTA membership. Find out how below.

If you completed your natural therapy diploma, advanced diploma or degree overseas, and want to become an ANTA member, you can use NOOSR (for tertiary qualifications, bachelor degree or higher) or Vetassess (for vocational education qualifications, Diploma or Advanced Diploma) to check whether your qualification has an Australian equivalency. If it does, please be sure to include the confirmation from NOOSR or Vetassess in your membership application.

* Note: ANTA does not recognise undergraduate courses that are delivered entirely through distance, online learning, or external modes, as these aren’t recognised by health funds.
